Why do I get I/O device error 0×8007045d when I burn a DVD with external burner?
I’m trying to create a DVD using the Windows 7 Explorer-integrated burner with an Ultra (brand) external DVD burner. I only get the error when I try to burn a disk that will work on a CD/DVD player; if I choose the USB option, there is no error but the files copy VERY slowly (~30k/sec — so slow that I think there may actually be an error that is just not displayed). Any ideas?
Hello, I think maybe there’s a compatibility problem between your external DVD burner drive and the windows integrated burner software, burn dvd disk that will play well on a DVD player, you can follow me to use a right software RZ DVD Creator to test your external DVD burner drive, it built-in the high compatibility burner(compliant with all popular burner drives and writable cd/dvd disk), it can convert any videos to video dvd and burn to any cd/dvd disk(DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL, etc), easy to use, insert a cd/dvd disk into the dvd burner drive, run RZ DVD Creator, select the dvd burner drive as the target folder, drag and drop the videos into the software, then press the START button, you will get a right video dvd, and you can play the burned video dvd well on any dvd players, you can yahoo or google search and download RZ DVD Creator, easy to use
Windows 7 – I/O Device Error 0×8007045D Common Problems:
- I have a problem with my external drive, it is a FreeAgent Desk from Seagete. When I want to change some files and save others in a specific folder in mi external drive, the window gets frozen and then appears the error 0×8007045D.
- 0×80070057 Error & Skipping files Copying TO External Drive
Windows 7 x64, with Seagate external hard drive usb 250 gb, When cutting/pasting or just transfer/copying files/folders I get this Error.
Someone suggested I try TERA-COPY but I’ve noticed it also skips some files..The Skip/bypass rate is high, about 5% of all files a - The error message says there was an i/o device error. Check in Device Manager all the USB ports and hub for a yellow ‘!’ indicating a conflict or problem. Try a different USB port. I’ve found on my HP machines sometimes the USB ports in the back will be finicky. Sometimes if I unplug, then plug back in they start working.
Windows 7 – I/O Device Error 0×8007045D Tips:
- In case anybody cares, here is how the situation was resolved. It was determined my Microsoft that the Windows 7 32 bit computer that I have will not tranfer this large a file to a device using Fat32 format. So, if I wanted to use my computer to transfer the file, I would have to reformat the Garmin Nuvi 350 to NTFS. We did that only to find out that the Nuvi software will not read any of the data in NTFS directories. The Nuvi 350 was then reformatted back to Fat32 and the data recopied to the unit. It will now function. As to transferring the large file that produced the original error, I will have to use my wife’s laptop computer (running Windows 7 64bit) in the future to transfer large files to my Garmin nuvi 350 GPS unit.
- I was receiving the same error message. Shut down SQL server and the error disappeared. I THINK the open/locked files in SQL are causing the problem. If so, a bummer.
- I opened the properties tab for the disk drive.
On the Details page there is a list of properties. For “Safe Removal Required” The unit has a value of <true> .
I had long ago removed that silly icon for safe removal of USB device since I never remove the unit from the computer anyway.
So I found where to turn it back on.
Devices and Printers/FreeAgent Properties/Hardware/Seagate FreeAgent USB Device/Properties/General/Change Settings/Policies
Here I changed from Quick removal (default) to Better performance .
Then I restarted my backup and it completed properly. Finally!
I’m no expert on I/O interface, or USB, but this worked (at least once!). Hope it works for you!
